Adopt a War Grave

Would you like to ensure that all the War Graves within Merthyr Borough are commemorated?

I have been having discussions regarding how the numerous War Graves across the Borough can be commemorated, which links into my work with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

In conjunction with the Merthyr Tydfil Poppy Crafters team, I am pleased to say that we have come up with an idea which will last many years.

To the left shows a bespoke made Poppy, made from iron & concrete. With 178 official war graves across the Borough (and I believe another circa 50 which are not classed as war graves), we would like to plant a Poppy at each Grave but need your help.

If anyone would like to "Adopt a Grave" for the sum of £5, this will ensure that a bespoke Poppy can be made and laid at the Grave, and I will ensure that it is looked after for the years to come.

Some graves have the wooden Crosses, but these last only a few months before becoming rotten.

This will not be in place for the coming Remembrance Day due to timescales, but will be in place ahead

Please contact myself if you would like to Adopt a Grave.
